News: Writer Groups and Writing Things!

There comes a time in everyone’s life where you have to step out of your comfort zone. I have decided to do two things that I never thought I’d do. I have joined two writing groups: Pacific Northwest Writers Associations (PNWA), which is $65 a year and Epic Writers Group, which is $25 a year. I’ve suffered from anxiety and extreme introversion all my life, so the idea of me joining groups has always been weird for me. But! One can’t stay stuck behind the walls we build if we want to succeed, so here I am! Both groups have access to literary agents, writing conferences and classes, and of course, a place for writers to talk and share their experiences. An example of one of the writer conferences, PNWA has one in September of next year, with R. L. Stine as a guest speaker! One of my favorite writers and I might be able to go! I’m truly excited about this, and can’t wait to see what happens!

The second thing I have decided to do is something I’ve been fighting myself for a while. I’ve always fought the urge to study creative writing because the majority of my life I’ve told that to “get a real job,” but I have finally decided to get a degree in creative writing. For those that don’t know, I dropped out of the Art Institute, and have been in a bad mental state for a while. I have recently decided that I’m going to attend the local community college for creative writing. It was a hard decision, but I have made it. This is something I truly want to do, and I’m going to do it with all my heart.

I just want to say thank you, to all of you, for hanging around. Sooner or later I will ask you guys for help, but for now, I hope you enjoy my writing. Thank you.
