About L. A. Maciel

Short Bio

L. A. Maciel is a self-proclaimed writer and trier of weird things. A weirdo since that day she was born, she loves to try everything (except illegal things)! She is proud of all her failures, and though sometimes she falls and becomes discouraged, she always gets back up. She has written multiple articles for Gothic Bite Magazine, an online magazine that concentrates on the strange and macabre, and is a contributor to The Pantheist Pagan. She has published two separate short stories in two separate anthologies: Merry Krampus and The Gothic Grimoire. When she isn’t writing, she is watching Netflix with her husband, exercising, reading, or trying hard not to spew random and occult facts on unsuspecting people.

Long Bio

L. A. Maciel doesn’t do “normal” very well. After dropping out of college twice, she has decided to do the things that make her happy, which isn’t exactly financially sound.

Growing up the youngest of four to poor immigrant parents, Maciel noticed she had a different way of doing things when kids started treating her like a rotting tomato (she firmly believes tomatoes are poisonous, keep those red fruits away, please…).

Since she only had a few friends, she turned to books and comic books for companionship. Falling in love with fictional characters and worlds she wished were real.

Now, she is working on actually writing down her stories and living her weird truth. Her tagline is how she lives her life: “Writer and trier of weird things.”
